 | Family Fun Afternoon Tea |
mbutl8 writes "Thank you to all those families who supported our Family Fun Afternoon Tea last Friday the 14th of September. The event was hosted by the Manly West MAD PALS to celebrate spring and to bond our school community. The children enjoyed activities including painting, skipping, flower making, egg and spoon races, games and face painting. The Fun Afternoon was also visited by an interactive puppet show with dozens of humorous characters entertaining the parents as much as the students. Year 7 students performed a skipping display with teachers and the principal getting involved.
All at Manly West State School would like to thank Woolworths at Mayfair Village who very kindly donated funds towards the purchase of goods for the afternoon.
Don''t forget the MAD PALS educational toy drive leading up to Christmas - stay tuned for some great Christmas gift ideas. By holding this toy drive, we will earn credit to purchase educational toys and games for the school.
Thanks for your support."

 | New Equipment |
MadgerM writes " The Mad Pals (Mums And Dads – Parents Achieving Lots of Stuff) formerly the Ladies Axillary have had a busy year; with the money we raised from the Mother’s and Father’s day stalls we have been able to purchase for the school sports equipment (soccer shin guards for the children’s safety, and for the pool pull buoys and diving toys) also headphone and headsets for the Library computer which have been put to good use and from reports from the kids they work well.
The Mad Pals have made and fitted curtains into the new reading resource centre with the help of Mr. Gilbert, which will now protect the resources in the room from the sun. We have also purchased a shade cover for the library garden which is just awaiting installation and will make this area more utilized. We have also donated money towards the Parent Library and further for the children’s enjoyment more funds for board games. The preschool has not been forgotten with finance being given to purchase large reading books and finger puppets. We have appreciated the support of parents and children of the school who have helped us with our fund raising efforts without which the above projects could not have been achieved.
